The aqua hues of the glass mosaic tiles on the bot at Wat Xieng Thong fascinated me. An unusual color to find at a Buddhist temple, the base of the structure shimmers in the sunlight. The entire building is so ornate and rich with decoration, it wasn’t until the third pass by that I even noticed this elephant head motif along its lower level.
