The USA added two more gold medals to its haul on Sunday thanks to two of our female Olympians. Kim Rhode not only won the gold in skeet shooting, but is the first US Olympian to win an individual medal in five consecutive Olympics, and managed to tie the world record and set a new Olympic record by hitting 99 out of 100 targets too.

The defending world champion in the 100m butterfly, Dana Vollmer, also won gold, setting a new world record of 55.98 seconds in doing so.

That brings our gold medal count to three. We are celebrating each of our wins with an appropriately flag draped winner daily, stayed tuned for more gold medal award winning bodies.

Mahalos Kim!

And a big thanks to Dana, too!
