This shot is from Wat Pha Bong, a tiny temple in Chiang Mai. I’d already hit close to a dozen wats the day of my visit and didn’t really want to bother with pulling my shoes off yet again to check out a temple that, from the doorway, seemed to offer little different from every other wat in town. So I didn’t.

But peaking through a window, I spotted this old monk tucked away at the rear of the chapel looking like he was deeply involved in reading some religious text. Or so I assumed. Took the shot and when I got back to the hotel and loaded the photo onto my computer saw his interest was not in some ancient Buddhist text but rather that he’d been surfing the internet.

I have to assume he’s a fan of my blog and was logging on to catch my latest post.
