It’s not that I’m fixated on hot swimmers, but rather just that I thought I should throw the host nation a bone and feature one of their studs early in my coverage of sexy Olympians. Besides, I love the dude’s name. Not to mention his bulge.

26-year-old Liam Tancock swims the 100m backstroke for Team GB. He holds the world record in the 50m backstroke, which is not an Olympic event, and has become a three-time world champion and a five-time Commonwealth Games gold medallist. He competed in the Olympic Games in 2008 but did not earn a medal, finishing in the sixth position.

As part of his training regime for the Games, he has taken up ballet, and though Google’s predictive results adds gay to his name, it’s way down on the list and seems to be more a case of wishful thinking.
