I’m torn in deciding whether divers or gymnasts generally have the hotter bodies. Maybe if male gymnasts started wearing skimpy Speedos that would make for an easier call. Although any excuse for switching to skin-tight spandex briefs would be fine in my book. All that exposed flesh immediately draws your eyes to the divers. Face it, Tom Daley would never have captured the gay men of the world’s attention if he was an equestrian. Gymnasts on the other hand are usually more muscled. Both have ripped bodies. But it seems more pronounced in gymnasts because they are usually tiny guys. I think, overall, if I got to spend an hour in either sport’s locker room, I’d go with the gymnasts. ‘Cuz divers are too easy and will do pretty much anything you dare them to.

I had intended on doing a post about Malaysia’s diver Ooi Tze Liang who is quite talented and won gold at the recent Common Wealth Games. And, obviously, has a body to drool for. But he won a silver in the 3m Springboard Synchronized diving on Tuesday at the 17th Asian Games and when I saw a photo of the medal ceremony with his partner Ahmad Amsyar Azman, Ooi no longer existed. I forgot about those male gymnasts too. And Dustin Lance Black can keep Tom Daley while we’re at it. ‘Cuz Azman is a little hunk of muscle. And has thighs you’d like to wrap around your face until you can’t breathe. Or at least I’d like to.

It doesn’t hurt that he reminds me of a bar boy at Tawan either. Who just happened to have been a gymnast back in his home country when he was younger. Huh. And did I mention Azman has an ass to die for too?

The 22-year-old stud began diving at the age of seven, and while he hasn’t exactly set the world on fire during his 15 year career, when partnered in the synchronized events he’s won a gold medal at the 2013 SE Asian Games, and just missed out of a spot on the podium at the recent Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Diving in the 1m and 3m singles events at international competitions he usually comes in sixth or seventh. But he’s been showing promise. At the Asian Games on Thursday he placed fifth in the preliminaries on the 3m board, so there’s a chance he’ll add another medal to go with his silver before heading back home to Malaysia.

The 5′ 3″, 139 lbs. biggest claim to international fame was at the Commonwealth Games during his 1m preliminary dive when he dove fell off the board, flat on his face, and scored a perfect 0. That didn’t win him a medal, but did make him popular on YouTube. It may have also been why he was not originally scheduled to dive in the 3m Springboard Synchronized event this week. But the Malaysian coach decided to substitute him for Ooi Tze Liang’s regular partner when that pairing failed to beat the South Koreans in the 1m Springboard Synchronized competition earlier in the week. Since they scored a silver medal, that was probably a wise decision.

Ahmad doesn’t stand much of a chance and landing an Olympic berth for the Rio Games in the singles competitions, but if the Malaysian team continues to pair him with Tze Liang he may snag a spot in the synchronized events. If so, Tom Daley had better hope Dustin isn’t watching that competition.
