Today is the 4th of July in the USA. Okay, so it’s the 4th of July pretty much everywhere in the world, but in the US we celebrate it as the birth of our nation. The holiday is also known as Independence Day, although that term has fallen out of use these days since we are so dependent on foreign oil. Not to mention funding from China to keep our economy afloat. But hey, if Nero could fiddle while Rome burned, Americans can eat barbeque and get sloppy drunk while our Congress plays with itself too. Besides, we’re talking a three day weekend. So life is good.

I thought I’d commemorate the day with some little known facts about the 4th of July, but the only thing of interest I could find was that three of our presidents died on that day. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson made it a two-for, kicking the star-spangled bucket within hours of each other on July 4, 1826. James Monroe did it five years later. Which wasn’t real original. I’m not sure if having the entire country party while you pass away is a good thing or not, but then at least they went out with a bang.

So instead I’ll celebrate the day as usual by posting some pix of hot guys in red, white, and blue. And now you non-Americans have something to celebrate too.
