If you never have before, the Halloween season is the perfect time for a visit to one of Bangkok’s more unusual shopping destinations, Mansion 7, a small spooktacular mall that includes a not-too-bad haunted house. Your boy du jour will love it. But considering how he spends most of his nights he’s seen much worse so don’t expect him to be frightened.
On the other hand, Todd, an avatar based on averages from CDC anthropometric data who represents the just shy of being obese by the medical definition average American male is down right scary. Not that the representations of the average male from Japan, The Netherlands, and France are much better. I just thank the gods they didn’t produce one of the average male living in Pattaya.

I rarely visit Bangkok without taking in at least one of Hollywood’s latest blockbusters. Bangkok’s cineplexes put American theaters to shame and they are cheaper too. SFX has most of the mall cinemas wrapped up, and their website lists not only showings and showtimes, but has lots of promotions too. Some are for discounted tickets. Others for wonderful deals on snacks and sodas that include some cheap, tacky, plastic movie tie-in souvenir that you’ll overpay for and your boy du jour will love. Or better yet, you can note which are holding those promotions and avoid them all together. Not that Noom has ever allowed me to get away with that trick. (I’m just glad they don’t have Happy Meals at McDonalds in Thailand or that’s the only place we’d ever eat.)
And while I’m on the subject, The Top 10 Movies Filmed In Thailand doesn’t include any of Tony Jaa’s flicks (TYG2 opens this month, btw) nor Only God Forgives, which releases on DVD on the 22nd (legally), but with the exception of a Bridgette Jones flick does list the more popular Hollywood movies that include glimpses of many places you are probably quite familiar with.

In the same building as Mansion 7, there is Soi 8 Red Beat (former Ratchada Soi 8 gay disco). Went there not long ago. There must be another gay disco not far away, will check it out when time permits.
Is there an app for closest cinema and movie show times? That would be helpful.

From what I can gather Mansion 7 is now more of a hang-out with bars than a shopping destination, so maybe I’ll finally have a better reason for a visit.
Dunno about an app, I’ll ask Noom. He pulls out his phone and comes up with discount tickets often when we hit one of the SFX cinemas . . .

Hi Bangkokbois, field report of Day 01 of Operations BKK.
19 Oct (Sat)
Having arrived in BKK the previous nite – or rather early morning cosidered we cxhecked-in to the hotel just after mid nite – with the family, and having done the dutiful son part of shopping with papa, mama, sister at MBK in the morning and a late lunch at siam paragon; i am off on my own – only for a short while – as you know, my devil boi Pon (yes – he doesn’t mind being mention by name over the internet) is waiting with open arms for me… and my wallet.
We met up at MBK, as I went back to collect my personalised t-shirt from Seven Sis. The shop specialised in putting captions on polo t-shirts, caps and t-shirts. If you are doing words on polo-shirts and caps, Seven Sis sells them. BUt if you want to do those words on a t-shirt, you will ned to hop across to the shop directly opposite on the right hand side to get the t-shirts before coming back to Seven Sis (MBK Level 6 Shop B4). It will done in about 30 – 60 mins.
I was making a cap for my god-son and seeing the longing look in Pon’s eyes, how to not have the heart to say no to get a cap personlised with his nick-name on it. Randomly shopping around with no particular aim while waiting for the caps to be ready, we ended up buying 2 shirts for me – and 2 shirts for him, one bermudas for me – one for him as well, a box of briefs for me – and a box for him as well… well… u get drift… haha.. But he was careful in not over buying. If I buy X items from a shop, he would never buy more then me – despite the sales person urging him to buy more.
After collecting the caps from MBK, i suggestetd we go for a Thai massage around the Siam area, Pon suggested we head to Silom as he is not really famliar with the Siam area. Instead of jumping into those taxis waiting infront of MBK, we cross the bridge – bought him some toiletries stuff while on the bridge – and got into taxi opposite of MBK. Logical as we would skip the Rachadamtri traffic and headed the correct direction
See the advantage of having a boi boi with you. if I am a normal touri, i would never have thought to cross the bridge, and would have got into those MBK side taxis and wasted time driving into the heart of the jam while heading the wrong direction!
I pick a massage shop at random – Yen massage – is near to the stairways coming out of the BTS staion, altough I insisted that we should go for the massage together and I would take care of the expenses, Pon declined my offer and prefer to “wait you finit you call me”.
In Thia masage – we usually change into some perjumpmas looking attire. Usually I keep my briefs on, but thinking to be more comfortable i removed my briefs, and as the top was too small so ask the therapist -“no wear okay?:” “ok.. can.. can” less then half time into the massage, he start arousing me! never expected it and his hands feel real good carrasing all those areas that my body craved to be touched. hee hee..
well.. he did offer to do a handjob for 300 bhat which I agreed but told him “can.. can.. but no come out… no shoot…” which he nod the Thai way that leaves you wondering if he really undersood or not. well, it was a sensational session which didn’t end in a climax as my intent.
Pon was waiting outside for me, with a new hair perm, in clothes that we bought earlier and less those shopping bags. he had taken the time to go back to his loom to change up for the evening.
I wanted to look for that damn resturant with blue lightings, but cound not find it, and we settles for lunch at Central Silom Complex . I pick the resturant off the directory cause of the name “Up To You” – its at the topmost level and the menu is geared towrads oriental food.
After dinner, I suggested goingt to Nature Boys together to take a look. while, smart boi knew better, we headed towards nature boy but never quite reach it, and ended up under that damn red sign board! ha ha.
Since we have nothing else to do and the bars are ot open yet, we did the next best thing. “Hotel” I wispered into Pon’s ears. Bling! in about 5 mintues, we are in one of the rooms directlly opposite soi twilight and no hassale, the bored looking staff at the carpark open the door and payment made in the room 560 bhat, no IDs, no registration needed.
Even though this is the third time we are in a hotel room, and I have already seen his dick before, the bar boi’s towel stays firmly wrapped around his waist and yes don’t mention the TV. I love a good blowjob and I must say my devil boi’s oral skills brough me to heaven. hee hee.
When we finished up, the time is just right to head over to X Boys when the doors open. Was a great welcome the 2 male mamasans gave. The chinese speaking one had a present for me! I had prepared gifts for them as well. The very pushy lady boy mamasan has went over to hotmale but in a male mamasan capacity (means he is no more a lady boy – confused?)
Bought a round of drinks for the staff. Then the chinese speaking mamasan invited me + my boi over to Zeus, two doors or three doors away, newly renovated in June, a joint venture between X-Size and X-boys, but the boys are shared by X-Boys and Zeus. The decor is really classy compared to the other bars, drink are standard 300 bhats.
They have some form male beauty pagent but I was too tired out to stay for the event and headed back to the hotel to re-group with the family!

Maybe that’s a bar boy thing, Noom too does the one for you one for me shopping thingy. Unless the deal is buy 2 get 1 free, then the ‘free’ goes to him too. Of course.
Nice tip on taxis at MBK. But wouldn’t the BTS be even quicker, cheaper, and easier?
Excellent report on your first day, and I thank you for sharing. But now what I really want to know is what the mamasan gave you as a gift? Or are we gonna hear about the first time you offed a mamasan instead?
🙂
Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip . . .

on the shopping part… I noticed that if I paid directly to the sales staff… that will be it… but if I hand Pon the cash… there will be some conversation in Thai… and we end up with some discounts… no diff to me… as I feel it is silly to haggle over 50 cents or a dollar…
Andi Cheok said:
hmm… on the crossing the bridge part… I think it has more to do with buying some particular brands of toiletries from the shop which is on the bridge…
the taxi ride was okay… we reached silom in about 10 mins… the driver took some alleys and lanes… fare is about the same if we had taken the BTS…

mamaasan got me a Buddha amulet… supposedly… originated from China… handmade with 5 colours of sand… blessed by China, Tibet and Thai monks…

I only realised this the next day… one of the reasons… that Zeus beauty pageant event thingy was planned on that day… as mamasan knew of my travel plans…
they even had a front row table reserved for me… I felt bad that I missed the event… although I did pop in for a drink and to be introduced to the mamasan manning zeus.. was really too tired from lack of sleep and shepherding the family…
if I had know of the event… I would have gone back to the hotel to rest and freshen up before heading to twilight…
but the urge to see Pon as soon as possible… made me throw all logical planning aside…

Well then you have something to look forward to for your next trip.

but more on how to avoid stepping into a ladyboys bar…

I mostly remember the Bridget Jones movie for the scenes in the holding cell. Not really a place I’m terribly familiar with. 😉
Nearby Mansion 7, within the same complex, is the Soi 8 Redbeat gay club. I’ve been to the latter but I’ve never been to the former, I’ve only seen it. There’s also a bigger club that’s popular with ladyboys and regular folks, it’s called SOS (Sound of Secret or something like that). I went there once as well and it’s fun as long as you like Thai-style discos (i.e. very loud music, the table setup, etc.). They even checked my ID and I felt quite flattered.
Bangkokbois said:
Checked your ID to see if you were a lady or a boy Alex?
🙂
Sounds like the area could be a decent alternative to DJ and GOD if you’re not addicted to the commercial sex scene. And if ladyboys don’t scare you.
Alex said:
There bursts my bubble…!! I thought they just wanted to make sure I’m of legal age already. Quite a natural concern, I thought! 😉
Regarding where to hang out in Gay Bangkok, I guess it depends on what people are looking for. Westerners looking for a disco hookup with a hot Asian, commercial or otherwise, simply won’t find any better place than DJ, where we’re spoiled for choice most nights. I wouldn’t go to Soi 8 Redbeat or a similar club on my own and for that purpose, I’d either bring my date or go with friends. That’s not to say that hookups don’t happen, but from my experience you stand a much better chance if you don’t look like you’re desperately in need of cock. You’ll stand out for being a foreigner anyway, no need for being mistaken as a sociopath by showing up on your own on top of that. 😛

Good point Alex. Thai-centric areas are not the same as those that cater to touri. Go by yourself and you will stand out. And not in a good way!

Day 2 Evevning
Yes, I attain butterfly status in the gay gogo bars.
Seems that one can achieve an orgasm almost everywhere in BKK.
first stop – Thai massage – one of the massage places in silom, an up-the-stairs in a dark alley one. those guide books that warn touri to stay away from up-the-stairs establisments are so wrong! the decor of the place is classy, spacious, well lighted and offers an array of spa services. had a “Thai” enough Thai massage with the therapist offering a hand job at the end of the session – which I politely declined.
second stop – dinner at soi 6 – i was looking for this particular resturant with blue lights, and managed to find it tonite. love the ambience of the place.
third stop – nature boys – was seated, drinks served. and the two boys came over. and the carressing begins. when the older boy realised my nipples are sensitive, he unbuttoned my shirt and played, sucked on them; right in the middle of the bar! one more boy – a twinky looking guy joined in and had I now had two boys sucking my nipples… while the third boy already had my cock out and playing with it. a fourth boi join in carresing almost every part of my body. was tempted to shoot my load there and then, but self control got the better of me… and I left after about half an hour.
forth stop – still earlly for the red sign board… so pop in for a foot massage at the corner where soi 6 turns into soi 4. despite its obscure location, seems the place is popular with locals and expats. think I am the only touri there. at the end of the foot massage, the therapist gave did a complimetary shoulder and back massage… which at certain points had the theraphist body pressing against mine. I could feel the hardness of his dick. hmmm… later on – i had a Grindr messege from the theraphist telling me he is available… ha ha…
have to stop now… going on a city tour with the family… report on soi twilight later…
Bangkokbois said:
Ahhhh Nature Boys . . . there just isn’t any competition for pure sleaze like that in Bangkok. Now aren’t you glad Pon nixed the idea of visiting the place together?
Thanks again for your report Andi.

Day 2 (20 Oct) Evening – Part II
Fifth Stop – Hotmales
missed the stairs that will lead up to hotmales… the chinese speaking barker for X Boys – who has taken on a role to be my personal guide each time I step into soi twilight… haiz… the wonders of a simple tip that I gave him on my virgin trip here certainly goes a long way – pointed the stairs to me and earning himself another tip…
Seated… look on the stage… no Noom… the mamasan was not pushy… he held a certain bearing that is endearing to watch… like a queen holding court wih a non-chalant attitude… and the bar’s guest are her subjects holding our breathes waiting for her nod to start the show rolling!
before having the chance to ask mamasan about noom… a asian guy walked in… stopped dead at the doorway… staring at the stage… opened mouth… ha ha.. funny sight indeed… hotmales guys are in t-shirts… think his look will be more priceless if he have stepped into a bar with boys only cladded in briefs!
captain dragged him to the table next to me.. and the the conversation between mamasan and guest is damn interseting!
mamasan: wat drink u want?
guest : how much is the cover charge?
M: drinks
G: how much is the cover charge?
M: same same
G: how much entrance fees?
M: all same… 300 bhats… drinks?
G: what drinks you have?
M: we have 3 drinks (or something to that extend coz he was counting 1,2,3 with his fingers showing the guest.
G: do you have a menu?
M: I am the menu! (I almost snorted the cola in my mouth out! – I really love this answer)
I actually would love to help… but I am on a mission!
after mamasan settled the guest I asked for Noom… mamasan didn’t seems to understand…
A: I find noom
M: u lie muscles?
A: No. I want talking with noom
M: U no lie muscles?
A: i no lie… i lie mamasan…
M: o.. yo… smile…
A: i find noom… i want talking with noom… famous…
M: noom no come tonight.
A: ko-pun-kap… mee’ah (thai for mamasan)
not fated to meet noom… and i save on the red packet which I had prepared for him… hee hee… well… there will always be anext time..
settled the bill… gave a modest tip to mamasan… and guess which bar I head to next?
time to stop…. flying home today…. leave you guys hanging… ha ha….
Bangkokbois said:

Thanks for another wonderfully told tale Andi.
Sorry you missed meeting Noom.
I’ll have to email him and ask him why he didn’t go to work – he hates when I know something like that when I’m thousands of miles away!
Andi Cheok said:
another positive mamasan to add to my collection of positive vs negatives ones…
think I must have chalked up enough karma to have met mostly positive ones so far…
but might be too early to tell… this is like my third trip to BKK? and in terms of days… I have spent less like only ten days of my entire life in BKK… lol…
seems tat mamasan has the final say to start the show in the bar?
Andi Cheok said:
yeap… its a shame that I didn’t get to meet noom…
on the first nite… i was too tired to bar hop… also… Pon whisk me straight into a taxi after our sit-down in zeus…
well… I have kept the red packet… and will safe keep it till my next trip…
btw… I saw a banner in hotmales advertising their anniversary on 30 Oct…
and tru your blog… I understand you usually time your visit to coincide with Yi Peng… which should fall on 17 Nov this year…
Bangkokbois said:
Yup, usually, but this time around it’s dependent on Phil’s schedule. But thanks for letting me know about Hot Male’s party. I’ll send Noom a Happy Anniversary email . . . it drives him crazy when I know suff like that!
Bangkokbois said:
Depends on the bar. A few seem to actually know what a clock is and start their shows on schedule (give or take about 15 minutes of course). Others wait for enough customers. Regardless, the bar’s barkers will alwasy tell you, “Show Now!”
ChristianPFC said:
Am I just being jealous or do I smell a troll? There are no hotels opposite Soi Twilight, and there is no corner between Silom Soi 4 and Soi 6.
Crossing the street to get a taxi in the right direction? That’s common sense. In fact, I would be surprised if a Thai friend suggested this, instead of getting a taxi on our side of the street because it’s less effort and I will pay for the detour.
Bangkokbois said:
I think you are being a bit too literal Christian. Andi is a newbie to Bangkok; assume his locations are generalized, not specific (the Suriwong Hotel, for example, then is opposite Soi Twilight). Taxi-wise, Thailand is the only country where I’ve experienced taxi drivers who refused to turn around and go the opposite direction. And most newbies wouldn’t think of doing anything other than grabbing a cab in front of MBK (where you are not supposed to).
Andi Cheok said:
Hi Christian,
my bad… the blue lights restaurant is After Hours on soi 6… actually thinking back…. the blue lights are not from the restaurant… but due to the reflections from the Stand Chart bank sign board opposite… hee hee….
I didn’t realised it was the place I was searching for it when I passed by it a few times… only know I am in soi 6 when I saw the restaurant’s name on the menu…
which triggered “o… then I should be very near to nature boys”… which i remembered to be on soi 4 (wrongly)… hee hee…
the massage place is at the part of soi 6 when you have to make a left turn… there is one there… at the end of this short alley where you have to turn right… there is another one at this corner… which is the shop I went for my foot massage…
the hotel – doesn’t look like a hotel… we crossed suriwong road… walked in tru an alley beside 7-Eleven… and its a carpark… there is a row of rooms on the ground level… with cars parked right infront of the room doors…
I was sceptical initially… is this a hotel? but the room is okay… no frills and nothing fancy… but simple and clean… good enough for a quick orgasm…

Day 2 (20 Oct) Evening – Part III
Sixth Stop – Classic Boys
To readers who guess X Boys… sorry!
I timed my visit to twilight when X Boys show should have started as they usually start earlier then the other bars; partly to avoid being dragged into the bar and partly to give myself a cooling period on Pon.
I didn’t let Pon know that I am in twilight; but i did told him the day before that i have drop in to hotmales – give my USA friend the boyfriend a present and Classic Boys to see the show.
Okay; I admit just excuses so i could try out another boi from another bar. No prize for guessing this one right. Hee hee.
But like what U mentioned somewhere in your blog that there are no secrets in twilight. Pon’s facebook status was updated to something in Thai roughly translated as “disappointment…out the door… so near yet not can see him in face…”
I headed to Classics after not can see Noom in Hotmales, escorted by the chinese speaking barker when I saw him at the foot of the stairs and told him I headed for Classics. Thanks to your tip from your blog on tipping, a little bhat certainly goes a long way.
From a business perspective, Classics stable of boys, laid back attitude, and the anything goes approach to guests should ensure its survival despite it’s location.
The show have not started yet; the mamasan who speaks decent English remembered me, although he was wrong when he insisted I have off a boi from Classics before. Knowing the Thai face issue, I did not correct him plus its not a bad thing to be remembered as a returning patron. Hee hee.
I told him I am with family for this trip and joking told him that I stole out of the hotel room while they were sleeping. Ha ha.
I asked about the boi-in-cap, just as he appeared from somewhere dressed to perform in the show. Asked mamasan if have to wait boi finish show? Does the boi suck? and I can only do a short time with him.
Mamasan says yes; have to wait at least for the item that he already changed for; and suggested the boi could sit with me during the show. Yes, he sucks and do everything and short time is okay.
The smiling boi seated and I bought him a drink, before the bar boi standard convo starts; I beat him to it. hee hee
A: hello… I from Singapore… where u from?
B: (stunt look) I from BKK…
A: hometown in BKK?
B: (still stunt) Issan…
A: how long in BKK?
B: (more or less recovered his composure) one year.. u in BKK how many days?
A: 4 days… where u stay?
B: (he replied somewhere which I cant figure out)
Mamasan join us asking if I intend to off the boi? coz “another customer want off him but because u buy him already drink, you first..”
Not sure if its pulling a fast one or genuine, but my mission tonite is to attain butterfly status, and target is boi-in-cap. Needless to say the answer is yes.
Once established the off and the off fees check added to my check bin, mamasan then indicated for the show to start. While I was focused on the act on stage; mamasan seems to be giving some instructions to the boi which i understand the part about me stealing out of my hotel and about I like a blowjob. Hee hee. Another positive mamasan to my list.
Show starts with a classic dance item, 3some cock sucking (the boys in this acts seems to be from X-Boys on my previous visit), Ladyboy singing – she is good and earn a lot of tips, water tank show, modern dance item – which my boi-de-jour is dancing in. I love to see his dancing and his smile is damn sweet, then the show ended. Thank Goodness there is no fuck-show.
Boi dressed up and we left the bar. Although I only learnt this the previous nite, I acted like a pro. Headed to that hotel that does not look like a hotel, into the room, paid for the room and tipped the bored looking stuff, handed the tv remote to the boi and go for my shower.
Surprisingly when I emerged from the shower, the tv was off and boi already in towel. When he finish, the towel didn’t stay too long on him. Yes, and he gave a good blow job.
The boi is one of the few that really danced while on stage, he usually stands in the corner spot, and he smiles when he is dancing, he smiles a lot. I did ask him if he enjoys dancing which he told me he “lie to dance”.
Well, attained butterfly status in my third trip to BKK, on my fifth visit to Twilight.
Footnote:
I would not have known how to conduct myself nor how to enjoy myself fully in the gay gogo bars if I have not chanced across this blog on my virgin trip.
Thanks to the author of “Dancing with The Devils in The City of Angels”; I enjoyed myself in Bangkok, and most of all; (to quote the author) “fully enjoyed soi twilight as it is meant to be enjoyed.”
