I really need to get back to Cambodia. Both physically, and posting about the country on my blog. As many other places as I’ve yet not been to, Cambodia still has a strong pull. It’s cheap. The people are wonderful. They know how to make good coffee (not a common skill in neighboring countries), and I don’t think you can tour the ancient temples outside of Siem Reap too many times.
I already posted about the granddaddy of all Khmer temples, Angkor Wat. On my last visit there were two local wedding parties there, both using the ancient edifice for a backdrop. The bride of one couple went with the traditional Westerner white wedding gown. She was beautiful but something just seemed a bit off. The other girl sharing her special day went with neon turquoise for her entire wedding party, but as garish as the color was all of their outfits were traditional Khmer design. I think she made the better choice. I posted a photo of the lucky lady and her less fortunate groom in that post but didn’t have room to include this little stud, the best man. I don’t know if Cambodia allows same sex marriage, but I’d definitely give him some major consideration if they do.
