My favorite version of the famous Thai smile.

It’s all about being in proportion, which historically has meant men with big feet measure up well where it really counts too. Someone with far too much time on their hands has composed this Man’s Anatomy and Shoe Size chart that provides the corresponding penis size for every European and US shoe size.

If this fad catches on y’all will long for the days when bar boys only had tramp stamps inked across their back.

If Sex Is The Question, then the answer is always: Yes Please! The Center for Disease Control wants to help state and local health departments better understand the HIV epidemic among gay and bisexual men and potentially create new techniques to reverse the trend by conducting the largest survey ever attempted by a US federal agency for gay and bisexual men. My favorite English translation error found in Thailand is still a menu listing a “My Thai’ as one of the drinks served because the logic on that one just makes so much sense. Badly worded signs are as ubiquitous as plastic stools in Thailand; this site offers up some great examples, all worthy of a chuckle or two.

Thais are a superstitious lot in case you have never noticed. I read on some forum once that a poster’s friend swore when a bird shat on him it was good luck. That one I think was someone pulling someone else’s leg. But then you can never be sure. I do know when I connect the dots and announce the meaning of one of these cultural oddities I get an incredulous, “How you know dat!?” out of my friend Noom. This one, however, is new to me.

Bangkok Dangerous? Being an avid flaneur I spend way too much time wandering the streets of Bangkok so this article brought home some not so pleasant memories, along with a few laughs over my own close encounters with the Thai version of sidewalks.
