Buddha Flowers

Tim was so enthusiastically pleased with my plumeria shot from last week I thought I’d run another floral themed photograph. If I run out of Ubiquitous Plastic Stool Shots before my next trip to the Kingdom, these could easily become a staple. I don’t shoot many pix of flowers when I’m out and about prowling through town, but have amassed a large portfolio from visits to wats. Not that you could necessarily tell where one came from from the next.

This photo is from the Marble Wat in Bangkok. It was one of those stray bunches you often see placed just outside the door to the temple by someone earning merit. Lotus are standard, I thought the orchids were a nice addition. What amazes me is that though the flowers left like this often look like they were just haphazardly laid on the ground, they are actually often nicely arranged. Evidently, when it comes to The Buddha that matters. As well it should.
