The photo reminds me of waking up with a musclehunk lying beside me….yes, I’m back after a short holiday in Bangkok!
Tawan Bar is practically empty during the weekdays…picking up only during the weekends. I remember coming in on a Monday evening and I was the only customer until 10 pm (!), then the locals started coming in and a few farangs…
Tawan will always be Tawan. It makes me think why so many seem to be bitching about Tawan being expensive and the bois portrayed as being pushy. I never experienced that and there seems to be no mamasans at Tawan. As to the expenses, well if you do not have any intention of spending then don’t go. Prices for a drink is comparatively at par with the other bars at the soi. This is a business enterprise and as all businesses go, they’re there to make money-what else? Besides, I came to Bangkok to have fun…fun I had at a cost I am well prepared.
I was aware being an asian myself, that I would be eyed with some reserve, so with your tips in hand (and head) I made my presence felt by being reasonably generous by offering those who interest me a drink a short chat and a tip for spending some time with me.
I was in luck, #7 was around when I came. I was surprised to know that he was a winner in a National Bodybuilding Contest in Thailand. He is such a nice person, he’s English is rather limited but not so much as not to be understood. He is a talker and he made me feel very comfortable and at ease. We agreed to spend the night at my room at the Tawana Hotel and it was memorable that ( i won’t go into the details) . I contracted him to be my day guide the following morning, even if I don’t need one. I just wanted to be with him and spend some quality time (?) outside the bar milieu.
To my surprise, he never, not once directed me to a shopping mall, where I expected him to ask me to buy him things…we toured the city temples and the klongs, had lunch and stuff. He had to leave a few hours before their call time at Tawan. I am not going to talk prices her, mind you.
Anyway, I could go on forever about the following days, but I won’t bore anyone to death with my story. One thing is certain…I love Asian Muscles! Regards.
Welcome home B!
Glad you had a great time on your trip. And I’m thrilled to hear you got #7!
Your experience sounds familiar – Tawan guys are incedibly sweet and just plain fun to spend the day with.
It’s nice to hear from a satisfied customer too for a change. But then you went with the right attitude so that you enjoyed yourself is not surprising. I’ve no doubt you have some great memories to tide you over to your next visit.
Thanks for reporting back . . . and now I want details!!!!!!!!!!!!
