And Buddha smiles, too.

This young monk was manning a small temple within an older wat’s compound in Chiang Mai. His shrine’s claim to fame was its Buddha’s smile. A serene Mona Lisa style expression changed to an almost grin when the monk flipped a switch turning electricity on to the array of statuary on the altar. Unfortunately, it was one of the few wats in Thailand that prohibited photography inside of he temple. But he made up for it by agreeing to pose at the temple’s door.
